He was predeceased by: his father Cecilio Melendez; his grandparents, Isidro Morales, Monica Estrada, Apolonio Melendez and Alejandra Ramos; and his brother Apolonio Melendez.
He is survived by: his wife Maria; his children, Melissa, Apolonio and Sayra Melendez; his grandson Emmanuel Cecilio Melendez; his mother Guadalupe Melendez; and his siblings, Maria Elena, Luis, Daniel, Sergio, Erika and Ricardo Melendez.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Legacy Chapels (4610 S Jackson Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A rosary was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St Jude Catholic Church (505 S Ironwood St, Pharr, TX 78577). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hidalgo Cemetery (105 N 3rd St, Hidalgo, TX 78557).
