He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosa Cruz and Raul Cruz; his brothers, Santos, Raul, Jesus and Emilio Cruz; and his stepdaughter Carmen Michelle Canales.

He is survived by: his siblings, Tomasita Garza, Rosa Linda Navarro, Irma Estela Cruz, Alonzo and Robert Cruz; his daughters, Irma Cruz Martinez, Maria Gracie Cruz, Rosa Belinda Rodriguez, Crystal Cruz and Nancy Cruz; and his nephew Albert Cruz. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous family and friends.
