He was predeceased by: his wife Consuelo G. Valdez; his parents, Adolfo Valdez and San Juanita Valdez; his siblings, Consuelo Valdez, Rosa Flores and Juan Valdez; and his daughter-in-law San Juanita Valdez.
He is survived by: his children, Maria Del Socorro Rodriguez (Jose Isabel Jr.), Jose Luis Valdez, Blanca Estela Valdez, Carlos Valdez (Mary) and Beatrice Poe (Matthew); his brother Ramiro Valdez; and his sister-in-law Guadalupe Jaime. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home - Edinburg (208 E Canton Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A rosary was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (215 N 16th Ave, Edinburg, TX 78541). A burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Park (1701 E Richardson Rd, Edinburg, TX 78542).
