He was predeceased by: his parents, Juan Garcia and Jospina Resendez Garcia; and his sister Irene Garcia. He is survived by: his wife Olivia Garcia; and his siblings, Juan Carlos Garcia, Ramiro Garcia, Esther Garcia and Mary Lou Garcia. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
