He was predeceased by: his parents, Abelardo Tijerina and Maria Saldana; his wife Carolina Tijerina; his sons, Abelardo Tijerina, Rodolfo Tijerina and Jesus Tijerina; his grandchildren, Melissa Tijerina and Ruben James Tijerina; and his siblings, Alicia Castillo, Marcelino Tijerina, Raul Tijerina, Juanita Gonzalez, Julio Tijerina, Jose Tijerina, Angelita Lopez and Leandro Tijerina.
He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Villanueva (Ramon), Juanita Ledesma (Juan), Norma Tijerina, Miguel Tijerina, Ruben Tijerina (Cindy) and Elizabeth Tijerina; his brother Leonel Tijerina; and his daughters-in-law, Guadalupe Tijerina, Tonie Tijerina and Elena Tijerina. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
