He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Burns and Geneva Burns; his wives, Peggy Burns and Geneva Burns (Teel); and his siblings, John Burns and Anna Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Stephen Burns (Tammy), Terry Perkins (Betty) and Tammy Murley; his sister Jewel Jetton (John David); and his grandchildren, Brandon Burns (Tara), Neisha Atkinson (Chris), Alyshia Burns (Julius Fugate), Joshua Sowels (Brittany), Caleb Sowels (Lydia), April Watters (Adam), Gregory Perkins (Jennifer), Crystal Miller and Terry Miller (Courtney). He is also survived by 21 great grand children.
