He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Richards; and his grandchildren, Lauren Crowell and James Speed. He is survived by: his siblings, David Richards and Olive Williams; his children, Joel Lee Richards (Sara) and Judith Hix (Alan); and his grandchildren, Suzanne Wine, Allison Wine, Alianna Richards, David Speed, Joel Richards and Drew Wine.
