He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Herring and Annie Mae Herring (Robinson); his wife Marjorie Herring; and his siblings, Shirle Mae Herring, Cherry Ann Herring and Robert Joe Herring.

He is survived by: his sister Belinda Kay Angerer (Steve); his nieces and nephews, Jessica Herring (Walter Thompson), Michelle McGrath (Bobby), Tracy Suedmeyer (David), JoBeth Herring, Cathy Doyle (Jerry), Brad Turner (Christa) and Sammy Herring; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Sydney Heard (Ted Poe), Hannah McGrath, Candi Kanady (Scotty), Decota Suedmeyer (Katy), Zachary Heard (Selena), Dillon McGrath, Sam Turner and Mason Turner; and also, Jayden Heard and Chelsi Kanady. He is also survived by his family and friends.
