He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcos Gonzales and Juanita Gonzales (Barbosa); his grandparents, Antonio and Augustina Barbosa; and his siblings, Panfila Astorga, Isabel Cardona, Rudy Ortiz and Delfino Barbosa.
He is survived by: his wife Manuela Vasquez; his children, Jose Gonzales Jr. (Lucy) of Amherst, Texas, Delma Espinoza (Frank) of Muleshoe and Amy Rangel (Daniel) of Edinburg, Texas; and his sister Maria Hernandez of Smyer, Texas. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel - Muleshoe (104 E Ave F, Muleshoe, TX 79347). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church (806 E Main St, Earth, TX 79031). A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Earth Memorial Cemetery.
