He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Tongate and Margueritte Tongate; his brother Jerry Tongate; and his nephews, Steve and John Tongate.
He is survived by: his wife Billie Frances Hill; his grandchildren, Ashley Morgan, Wendy Madrid, Christopher Madrid, David Nguyen of Irving and Kamrin McAfee of Brownwood; his children, Mark Tongate (Denise) of Buckholts, Christie Tongate of Early and Suzanne Tongate-Carter (Sammy) of Mesquite; his granddaughter Ashley Morgan Tongate of San Marcos; and his sister-in-law Mary Sue Inglet.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Brownwood.
