It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Paulette Matteson of Duncanville, Texas, born in San Antonio, Texas, who passed away on June 13, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy McWhirter and Dorthy McWhirter; and her son Christopher Matteson. She is survived by: her husband Jim Matteson; her son Sean Matteson; her daughter-in-law Shannon Matteson; her siblings, Peggy Mitchell, Lynn Thomas and Pat McWhirter; her siblings-in-law, Rap Thomas and Gerri McWhirter; her grandchildren, Skylar Matteson, Sierra Matteson and Katelynn Vaughn; and her great grandchildren, Hazel Hernandez, Paxton Lopez and Declan Vaughn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.
