He was predeceased by: his father Rufus Herman; and his sisters, Florice Boggs, Ocee Carter, Lorene Simmons, Dorothy Beal and Ruby Grant.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Titus, Barak, Caleb (Gurnell) and Olivia (Gamble). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends.
