It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Ray Stiggers Sr. (Duncanville, Texas), who passed away on November 27, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Edna Jeane Stiggers; his parents, Sue Nell Stiggers and Henry Tate; his stepmother Bernistein Tate; his siblings, Mary Elise Tate, Desi Smallwood, Tracy Smallwood and Henry Tate, Jr.; his granddaughter Karen Lynette Mapps; and his great grandchild Elijah Xavier Mapps.
He is survived by: his children, Edith Cotton (John), Deborah Nelson, Karen Elaine Mapps (Eric), Donna Stiggers-Davis (Larry), Billy Stiggers, Jr. (Benita) and David Stiggers (Cheryl); and his siblings, Lynda Williams (Abe), Marsha Tate Alexander, Avis -Burnett of Washington and Hilbert Reed. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren.
