He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Juan Rios and Vincent Rios (Ochoa); his former wife Consuelo; his son Oscar; his sister Dolores "Lola" Rios; his wife Rosenda; his children, Ruben Rios (Ana) of Sunray, TX, Gonzalo Israel Rios of Dumas, TX and Christina Hernandez (Manuel) of Dumas, TX; and his siblings, Magdalena Ochoa Soto, Jose Rios, Carmen Rios, Sylvia Montoya, Delfina Sanchez and Maria of Refugio Ortega. He was also cherished by 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
