He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cooksey and Geneva Cooksey; and his wife Ramona Cooksey. He is survived by: his children, Larry A. Cooksey (Twanna) of Washougal, Rickey J. Cooksey (Lajenia Levey) of Montrose, Claudia D. Wolosz of Richardson and Brenda S. Vaught (Steve) of Littlefield; and his grandchildren, Arelenda (Brad), Amberlee (Guy), Megan, Reed, Riley, Cally, Michael (Stephanie), Mitchell and Matthew (Sara). He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dumas - Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors (500 N Maddox Ave, Dumas, TX 79029). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (420 S Bliss Ave, Dumas, TX 79029).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be sent to the Memorial Nursing & Rehab Activity Fund, 302 E. 2nd, Dumas, Texas 79029.
