He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Laquey and Thelma Laquey; his wife Janey Carpenter; his grandson Victor Laquey; and his sister Muntess.
He is survived by: his brother Buster Laquey; his children, Russell Laquey (Betty) of Midlothian and Suzanne Shuler (Cecil) of Adkins, Texas; and his grandchildren, Daniel Laquey, Katie Sylvester (Craig), Brandon Shuler and Anthony Shuler.
