With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alta Olene Mathis (Dublin, Texas), who passed away on July 2, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Jessie Lee (Corbell) and Richard Edwin House; her husband B. W. Mathis; her son Ricky Mathis; her brother Thurston House; and her children, Ronald D. Mathis (Glenys) of Highland and Nancy Couch (Ronnie) of Highland. She was also cherished by her ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members, friends.

“Dear Family of Aunt Olene, I am saddened at the news of Aunt Olene’s passing because she was a special aunt but also she is our last Mathis kin of her generation. I do however rejoice that she is at peace with our Lord Jesus Christ and Uncle Bark & all her loved ones! Praise the Lord for His Loving Kindness! Since I am now 80 years old, Aunt Olene was 18 when I was born, which makes me realize she was always part of my loving Mathis family I adored. I will miss her. Love, Priscilla”
