Benjamin Cole Taylor Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 1, 2024, Benjamin Cole Taylor, age 45, passed away at his home in Dripping Springs, Texas. Ben was born in 1978 in Bridgeport, Texas. was predeceased by his father, Elbert Larry Taylor, and his grandmother, Ruth Winans-Narramore. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Ann Winans Taylor; his son, Liam Elbert Taylor, of Johnson City, his siblings, Jason Levi Taylor and Erika Ann Taylor-Garnett (John) of Decatur; his nephew Micah Allen Taylor (Lindsey) of Roanoke; his niece Sarah Ann Taylor, of Decatur, Ben will also be sorely missed by his cousins, friends, co-workers and especially his little dog, Lil Lily.
Those remaining who were close to his heart are SuAnne Ramirez, Mary Holt, Tommy Haydon, Jeremiah Howard, Cody Gee, and Kelly DeWitt.
Growing up, Ben attended church with family, His grandmother Ruth led him to baptism at First Baptist Church in Cottondale, Texas.
Ben graduated from Paradise High School and from University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton, Texas. Ben loved his job, working as a Certified Arborist, specializing in Oak Wilt Treatments. He always loved being outdoors, and his job allowed him to do just that.
Ben is fondly remembered by friends and family as one who was always willing to help out when needed. He helped others by delivering hay, cutting down trees, and doing cleanup work. Ben spent his last week on earth with his family, playing games and cooking for them.
Ben was known for his compassion and positivity. He donated his hair to Locks of Love.
Ben brought laughter to many of all ages. He is known for being a comedian and part-time clown, showing up at events in a tuxedo t-shirt.
Ben's life was dedicated to raising his son, Liam, his pride and joy. Ben was an avid reader. He enjoyed reading Clive Cussler books and reading to and with Liam. They spent much time together, playing putt-putt and pickle ball. They enjoyed watching sports and movies together. Most of all, Ben and Liam loved walks in the woods, where everyday was an adventure and a discovery.
A memorial service celebrating Ben's life will be held in the Chapel of Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City, Texas, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2:00pm.
