He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbra Gilbert and Chesley B. Gilbert (C. B.). He is survived by: his children, Christi Gilbert Lowrey (Josh Lowrey) and Gregory Lee Gilbert II (Rachel Gilbert); his wife Donna Marie Gilbert; the mother of his child Barbra Patton Gilbert; his siblings, Chesley Gilbert (Alma) and Diane Gilbert; and his grandchildren, Holcomb, Hartman, Myers and Tres.

Donations to St. Jude Research Children's Hospital are appreciated in lieu of flowers, a choice inspired by Greg's profound empathy for children facing health challenges, which he witnessed firsthand during his 32-month battle with cancer.
