She is survived by: her daughter Nancy Moerbe of Spring; her son-in-law Drexel Moerbe of Spring; her son Allen Fick of Katy; her stepchildren, Mary Dodd Loewe, Johnny "Spanky" Sullivan of Giddings, Sally Biar (Mike) of Ledbetter, Kenny Dodd (Janet) of Houston and Fred Dodd (Iris) of Giddings; her grandchildren, Meagan Moerbe of Katy, Kyle Moerbe of Katy, Brandon Fick of Katy, Kaylee Fick of Katy and Rylee Fick of Katy; her stepgrandchildren, Charlie Mayer of Austin, Christie Bradford of Giddings, Amber Kelly (Steven) of Giddings, Becky Cowen (Jeff) of Giddings, Jake Dodd of Houston, John Dodd of Houston, Shawn Biar (Ashley) of Giddings, Ashley Gallant (Mike) of Ledbetter and Darren Orsag (Meagan) of Lexington; her sisters-in-law, Mae Kainer (Larry) of Katy, Brennice Koether of Giddings, Margurite Lawrence of Giddings, Sue Marie Placke of Giddings and Dorothy Koenig of Ledbetter; and her nieces, Betty Lawrence of Giddings, Donna Koenig of Ledbetter and Cathy Carney of Ledbetter. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
Katie's Alzheimer's disease continued to progress and in 2017 she moved to Oakland Manor Nursing Center in Giddings where she could receive additional care.
