He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McCary and Beulah McCary; his wife Beverly Ann McCary; his sister Maydona Melton; and his grandsons, Brandon Gallagher and Daniel Osburn.

He is survived by: his children, Reesa Lambert (Ray), Linda Manning (Robert), Dale McCary (JoAnn) and Rhonda McCary; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Curtis Kiefer, Jr. (Judy), John David Kiefer and Vivian K. Sanders. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
