He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Albert and Inell Wooley Childress; his brother Albert; his sister-in-law Joyce; his parents-in-law, Florence Anderson and John Oscar Anderson; and his siblings-in-law, Ray, Mary Pitts, John Anderson and John Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Anderson Childress; his sons, Brian Keith Childress (Tisha) of New Braunsfel and Chad Eric Childress of Hitchcock; his sister Margie McCumber (Mike) of League City; his siblings-in-law, Carol Smith of Dripping Springs, Mike Anderson (Sandy) of Alvin and Shirley Anderson of Norman, OK; his nephews, Donald John and Steven Gene Childress; and his pet Sugar. He is also survived by his wife of 58 years, his family and many friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crowder Funeral Home (851 Farm to Market 517 Rd W, Dickinson, TX 77539). A vigil service was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (10114 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at the Hayes' Grace Memorial Park Cemetery.
