We are sad to announce that on February 5, 2019, at the age of 94, Alva Mae Cothern (Dickinson, Texas), born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Doyle and Mae Doyle; her husband Eugene V. Cothern; her significant other Ivan Duhon; her sister Dorothy Desselle; and her nephew John Desselle.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Cothern (Debbie), Cindy Gilliam, Robin Bartholomew (Michael) and Kim Benoist; her stepchildren, Belinda Boyd (Mike), Ronald Duhon and Laurie Duhon; and her grandchildren, Eugene Cothern, Michael Doyle Cothern (Mary, Stephanie Cothern), Robert Johnson (Joyce, Tara Beaver), Aimee McGuire (Keith, Travis Bartholomew), Ashley Ray (Jason, Jarrell Pike), Leslie Nimmo (Sean, Lanie Crowder), David Williams and Ivan Strong. She is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
