He was predeceased by: his parents, Susie Simmons (Johnson) and Woodrow Wilson Simmons; and his siblings, Alton Simmons and Sue Powell. He is survived by: his wife Helen Marie Simmons of Diboll; his daughters, Mary Ellen Pepper (Jimmie Pepper) of Pearland, Sarah Jean Wilson (Eric Wilson) of Fletcher and Susie Ann Ponder (Chris Ponder) of Santa Fe, Texas.; his grandchildren, Emily Gorton, Ciera Wilson, Connor Wilson, Haley Ponder, Lauren Pepper and Jacob Ponder; his sister Gertrude Wiggington of Laurel, Mississippi; and the mother of his children Margaret "Peggy" Daigle. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends.
