He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Courtney and Pinkie Courtney (Grimes); and his siblings, Alice Ford, Earl Courtney and Myrel Courtney.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon R. Courtney (Hough); his son Grady; his daughter-in-law Karlen Courtney; his children, Marvin Courtney, Debbie Hogan and Connie; his son-in-law Tom McCleese; his son Raymond; his daughter-in-law Joan Dulaney; his son Shawn; his daughter-in-law Wendy Dulaney; his daughter Jackie; his son-in-law Brent Robertson; and his brother Freddie Courtney. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
