He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Lee Layton and Beatrice Layton (Sanford); and his brothers, Billy Layton, Curtis "Sam" Layton and Grady Layton.
He is survived by: his wife Nora Layton of Diboll; his children, Deanna Layton Lane of Lufkin and Brian Layton (Teresa) of Pollok; his brother Jewel Layton of Nacogdoches; his grandchildren, Mercedes Bara, Maverick Murray, Shelby Wilson (Corey), Jakob Layton and Joshua Layton; and his great grandchildren, Ryder Rios, Tye Wilson and Brian Wilson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Gipson Funeral Home (1515 S Chestnut St, Lufkin, TX 75901). A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Whitehouse Cemetery.
