He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric August Rothe and Cora Catharine Finger Rothe; his siblings, Lawrence Rothe (Dorothy), Howard Rothe (Lillian), Joe W. "Billy" Rothe and Margaret Ann Golden (Bob); and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Cheney and Harlan R. Wolff.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Rothe of D'Hanis; his children, Bobbie Joe Rothe (Maria) of D'Hanis, Cindy Lopez (Jerry) of Rockport, Ronnie Rothe (Sheila) of D'Hanis, Kenny Rothe (Lisa) of D'Hanis, Mary Linda Braden (Clay) of D'Hanis and John Rothe (Kimberly) of D'Hanis; his sister Dorothy Rothe Cheney of D'Hanis; and his siblings-in-law, Rosie Lutz Rothe of D'Hanis, Adalene Mary Wolff Marquart of San Antonio and Ray Wolff (Dorothy) of D'Hanis. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren.
