He was predeceased by: his parents, Maximo Cortez and Josefa Lombrana Cortez; his wife Esther Flores Cortez; his son Billy F. Cortez; and his siblings, Adolfo L. Cortez and Juanita C. Torres.
He is survived by: his son Danny Cortez (Gloria) of Kerrville. He is also survived by two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
