It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Henry Poerner of D'Hanis, Texas, who passed away on June 23, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Jacob Poerner and Maria Amalia "Mollie" Zerr Poerner; his wife Jo Ann Ney; his daughters, Margaret Agnes Poerner and Mary Poerner; his siblings, Mervin Poerner, Poerner Fohn, Leona Poerner Finger and Effie Poerner Bendele; and his siblings-in-law, Naomi Nugent Poerner, Beatrice Ney Koch, Herman Fohn, Joseph Finger, Fritz Bendele, Lloyd Tschirhart, James Ney and John Gilhooly.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Mechler (Terry) of New Braunfels, Lucy Needham (John) of Austin, Cathy Supak (Ray) of Houston and Sarah Hahn (Christopher) of Round Rock; his grandchildren, Lauren Bolin (Elijah), Grayson Mechler, Garrett Mechler (Becca), Christen Colquitt (Christopher), Joshua Needham, Jordan Needham (Hannah), Amanda Supak, Rev. Cameron Supak (Kayleigh), Reagan Hahn and Rachel Hahn; his sister Anita Poerner Tschirhart; and his siblings-in-law, Mary Agnes Ney Gilhooly, Margaret Ney, Mathias Koch and Tom Ney (Margie). He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
