Mae Lajean Grimes Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mae Lajean Grimes of Deweyville, Texas, who passed away on February 24, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmette Doyle Murphy and Lora Mae Upchurch Murphy; her husband Bennie Grimes; her siblings, C. D. Murphy, Peggy Statum, Myrtie Yaw and Jackie Ashworth; and her parents-in-law, Alvin and Audrey Sue Bourque.
She is survived by: her daughters, Audrey Says (Chris) of Starks and Kayla Brown (Chris) of Deweyville, Texas; her grandchildren, Ashton Says (Hannah), MacKenzie Says, Caleb Brown and Logan Brown; and her siblings, David Murphy (Ramona), Martha Stanley (Edgar) and Phelonise Tynes (Bobby). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dorman Funeral Home (8808 TX-87, Orange, TX 77632). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made, on behalf of Mae "Jean" Grimes, to the MDS Foundation.
