He was predeceased by: his parents, Concepcion Mendez and Eloisa Mendez; and his brother Albert Mendez. He is survived by: his children, Juan Mendez Jr. (Jay) and Isabel Mendez; his grandchildren, Alyssa Mendez, Jaycob Mendez and Piper Peach; his siblings, Irene Mendez Leffler, Gerardo Mendez, David Mendez, Josephine Mendez Alonso, Rosalinda Mendez, Ricardo Mendez, Julia Mendez, Francisco Mendez, Lucy Mendez and Joe Robert Mendez; and also Misty Mendez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
