He was predeceased by: his parents, Altah Lee Luce Chant (Tenny) and Novie Ernest; his brother Chris Chant; and his mother-in-law Helen Larkin (Poore). He is survived by: his wife Jalyne Poore; his children, Terri Menges (Sam) of Devine, James Chant (Liz) of San Antonio, Kim Stevens (Dirk) of Devine and Todd Chant (Kristy) of Spokane, Washington; his grandchildren, Wesley Menges of Devine, Aaron Menges of San Antonio, Natasha Yanuszeski (Drew) of Spokane, Joshua Chant (Melina) of New Braunfels, Kaitlyn, Rachel, Gwynn Chant of Spokane, Allison and Wyatt Stevens of Devine; his great grandchildren, Calvin, Dawson Yanuszeski, Colton Chant, Addy Menges and Hallie Menges; his sisters, Carolyn Wiemers (Duane) of Hondo and Glenda Allen (Kenny) of Devine; and his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Chant of Eden, Sherry Lewis of San Antonio, Elyse Allen (Ken) of San Antonio and Arlon Scott of Louisville, Kentucky. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
