With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Berta Torres Mata in Devine, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 14, 2024 at the age of 65. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her mother Valentina Lopez Torres; her former husband Jose Martin Mata; and her sister Guadalupe T. Carrillo. She is survived by: her husband Jesus Ascencion; her children, Angelica Brackeen (Bobby), Robert Torres Mata, Veronica Mata (Jose Ramos) and Jesse Mata (Monica); and her siblings, Florentino Jr., Esuebio Gonzales, Vicente Torres, Juan Torres and Jose Torres. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Trevino Royal Oaks Funeral Chapels (203 E Frio St, Pearsall, TX 78061). A prayer was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 7:00 PM. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Dilley Cemetery.
