He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Tracyne and Melvin Jenkins "Pete" McDonald; and his sister Melva Ann Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Linda Elder McDonald; his brother Don McDonald; his daughters, Kathy Barron (Troy) and Karla Wright (Ron); his grandchildren, Tracy Gutierrez (Rolando), James Fischer (Beth), Nicole Jackson (Cotton) and Jessica Holt (Paxton); his great grandchildren, Lilli, Brianna, Bella, Daylen, Caden, Kinley, Kayleigh and Jayde; and his great great grandchild Lila.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jaynes Memorial Chapel (811 S Cockrell Hill Rd, Duncanville, TX 75137). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Richland Cemetery - Mertens (485 Hcr 3418, Mertens, TX 76666).

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association.
