It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Suzy Kelsey of Deport, Texas, born in Commerce, Texas, who passed away on March 27, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Travis Hughes and Mozelle Russell Hughes; her sister Janita Richardson; her former husband Dr. Kelsey; and her grandson Joseph Dodd.
She is survived by: her husband Sam B. Kelsey; her children, Connie Dodd (Travis) and Joe Travis Kelsey (Kim) of Bogata; her grandsons, Philip Dodd of Ft. Worth and Carter Kelsey (Keely) of Deport; her great grandchildren, Kylie and Chloe; her brother Dr. Gaylon Hughes (Mary) of Pearland; her nieces, Leigh Lehmann (Michael) of Pearland, Amy Pendergraft of Van Vleck, Marilyn Glover and Betsy Chapman (Jerome) of Deport; and her nephew David Glover (Jorge Martinez) of Dallas. She is also survived by several other cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
The family asks that memorials be made to Highland Cemetery in Deport or First United Methodist Church in Deport.
