He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Haywood and Helen Mary Miller (Devanny). He is survived by: his wife Carol Anne; his children, Mary Christine Andrews (Michael), Mary Carol "Cari" Selzer (Dennis) and William D. Miller Jr. (Shannon); and his brother Richard H. Miller.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested to please make donations to the Frederick Place Homeless Shelter in Rhinelander or Our Daily Bread in Denton.
