She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Donaree Bankhead and Leona McMullen; her husband James Elliott Garner; and her siblings, Mary Katherine Magee, Margaret Ella Bankhead Compton, Bobbie Jean Tagg, Lawton Bankhead, William Arthur Bankhead, Juanita Boren, Larry Bankhead, Jerry Glen Bankhead, Sr., Gary Wayne Bankhead and Linda Carol Fulcher.

She is survived by: her children, James Edward Garner of Poughkeepsie, NY, Richard Evans Garner of Jupiter, FL and Ann Jones (Edwin) of Carrollton, TX; and her half-siblings, James Kenneth Bankhead (Judy) of Granbury, TX, Donna Rhea Ballard of Oglesby, TX, Wanda Maybell Toten of Cleburne, TX, Elizabeth Ann Honea (Eddie) of Clifton, TX, Barbara Kay Salazar of McGregor, TX and Joyce Fay Beadle (Tim) of Clifton, TX.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Slay Memorial Chapel of Aubrey (400 US-377, Aubrey, TX 76227). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Post Oak Cemetery (2550 Fm, Oglesby, TX 76561).
