He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred McCurley and Reta Alexander McCurley Davis; his stepfather Robert Davis; his sister Betty Brown; and his daughter Sandra McCurley.

He is survived by: his wife Claudine Mabry; his children, Vince McCurley, Lori Barthold of Denton and Zelda Loyd (Paul Sr.) of Ponder; his grandsons, Preston Barthold of Denton, Avery Barthold of Denton, Paul Loyd Jr. (Brandy) of Justin and Christopher Loyd of Ponder; and his siblings, James McCurley (Patsy) of Corinth, Joe Davis (Vicki) of Kaufman, Freddie McCurley of Rockwall, Roger McCurley of Arizona, Gail Opanowitz of Alabama, Kristi Nelson of Washington and Sharon Schumaker of Waco. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
