Alma LoRene Akins Obituary

She was predeceased by: her parents, Alma Fredericka Laura (Otto) and George Franz Seckel; her siblings, Milton Seckel, Kenneth Seckel, Rose Marie Sturgis (Seckel), Lloyd Seckel and Jimmy Seckel; her great grandchildren, Madyson Avery Akins and Naomi Alma Akins; and also, Ray Akins, Polly Capps (Akins), Grace Wallis (Akins) and Walter Akins, Jr..

She is survived by: her husband Jack Walton Akins; her children, Julia Akins Clark (Nick), Jack "Bud" Walton Akins Jr. (Connie) and Timothy Paul Akins (Debbie); her grandchildren, Lisa Clark, Summer Lilley (Cody), Bryan David Akins (Jessica), Laura Lynn Akins, Andrew Paul Akins (Emily), Savannah Berry (Derek) and Mitchell Burrus; and her great grandchildren, Drake Clark, Bryson Akins, Elliot Cooper, Kit Cooper, Peyton Lilley, Parker Lilley, Eli Berry, Audrey Cooper, Cason Akins and Jack Akins. She is also survived by several other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in LoRene's honor to Up Ministry, a local nonprofit organization that provides assistance, including school supplies, clothing, weekend meals, and summer camps, to at-risk kids in the Argyle, Denton, and neighboring communities.
