He is survived by: his sons, Roy Oates (Martie) of Sherman and Rex Oates of Denison; his brother James Oates (Jackie) of Abilene; his grandchildren, Michael Oates (Ashley), Ryan Spradlin, Amanda Gibson (Grant), Matthew Spradlin and Loren Gomez (Arturo); and his great grandchildren, Garrett, Christopher Gibson, Zachary, Liam and Gomez.
