He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Watkins and Gladys Watkins (Johnson); his wife Pam; and his siblings, Marland, Thomas Watkins and Charlotte Darehshori.

He is survived by: his children, Marland Watkins (late Ella) of Ore City, TX, Phillip Watkins of Sherman, TX and Amy Gaskill of Savoy, TX.; and his sisters, Joyce McChristian, Lana Nunnelly and Cathy Brown. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Melvin Ross Watkins, age 75, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Clyde Cosper Veterans Home in Bonham TX after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
