We are sad to announce that on March 23, 2022, at the age of 49, Mark Arnold Batts (Denison, Texas) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Batts and Iva Nell Batts; and his sister Terry Waggoner. He is survived by: his brother Roger; his stepmother Sylvia Batts; his nieces and nephews, Jordan and Megan Batts; his great-niece Christina Waggoner Hall; his brother-in-law Paul Waggoner; his aunts, Sue (George Baker) and Hazel Winkle; his stepsiblings, Chuck (Bobbie Brown) and Leslie; and also, Scott Waggoner, Ashley, Gerald McQuade, Bryan, Kelsie Batts and Justin Banks.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Park Avenue Church of Christ for the Christian Theater Workshop program or Aggies for Christ.

“I’m an old friend of Mark’s. I was unaware of his passing. I don’t mean to be rude or insensitive, but how did Mark die? He was a good friend. I loved to hear about his work with Batts AVL. He had a beautiful tenor voice and played the piano beautifully. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I pray that the Holy Spirit is comforting all of his family and friends, of which I count myself! He will be missed!”
