She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Gilbert and Virginia Gilbert; her husband Samuel Garcia; her son Anthony Garcia; and her sister Yvonne Gaines (Marianna Schurba).
She is survived by: her daughters, Juanita Johnson (Bill) of Katy and Paula Smitherman (Ronnie) of Denison; and her grandchildren, Carlos Smitherman, Amy Waymire, Jennifer Perez, Jodi Hunt, Kacey Newsome, Ryan Garcia and Justin Smitherman. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and numerous great, great grandchildren.
