She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Burtie Grooms and Gladys Ethel Grooms (Hendrix); her siblings, Samuel Grooms, Joyce House and Connie Strong; and her daughter Caroline Garland.
She is survived by: her husband James Cox of Denison, TX; and her daughter Jamie Lynn Gudgel. She is also survived by other extended family and friends.
