He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse William and Eva Thomas (Gaither); his son Bobby Ray Thomas; and his siblings, Laverne Calhoun, Mattie Pebworth, Cecil, Johnny, Billy, Charles, Darrell and Jessie Lee Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Rozell Sangster Thomas; his daughters, Cheryl Capps (Ron) of Hawkins, Texas and Susanne Kulbeth (Michael) of Denison, Texas; his grandchildren, Rhonda Speed (Bart) of Forney, Amy Moffitt (Danny) of Stansbury Park, Kory Hobby and Dylan Kulbeth of Denison, Texas.; his great grandchildren, Tyler Hawkins, Emma Moffitt and Anna Moffitt; his great great grandchild Isaac Garcia; and his brother Donnie Thomas (Susan) of Eustace. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
