He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Bates and Alma Bates (Singleton); and his brothers, Tommy Bates and Leon Gene Bates. He is survived by: his wife Eugenia Bates (Jeanie) of Denison, TX; his children, Tami Ochsenbein (Chris), Christopher Scott Bates of Denison, TX, Vicki Lynn Blakenship (John) and Kristi Ann Nelson (Chris); and his brothers, Ricky Bates (Diana) and Jerry Bates of Sherman, TX. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, other extended family and friends.
