She was predeceased by: her mother Geneva Golden Williams; her former husband Judge Leon "Spanky" Best; and her son Willie Dee Best. She is survived by: her husband Bennie Sanders, Jr.; her children, Leon Carl Best (Debra), Zaundra Yvonne Wyatt (Stanley), Jeannine Opoku (Kofi), Bennie Sanders, III and Jihan Mechae; her sister Nancy Williams; her nephews, Rodney Hopkins (Crystal), Derek Hopkins and Calvin Delaney, Jr.; her niece Tamika McCaskill; her grandchildren, Leon Carl Best, Jr. (Melanie), Demarcus Best (Joy), Christian Best (Alexis), Stanley Wyatt, III, LaShay Yvonne McQueen (Jeremy), Tony Safo (Ann) and Yaw Poku (Wisteria); and her friend Nike Baby. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren, a host of cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial (2020 N Bedell Ave, Del Rio, TX 78840). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
