He was predeceased by: his parents, Roman Rivas and Adelaida Valadez; his parents-in-law, Tomasa and Francisco; and his son-in-law Jose Cabada.
He is survived by: his son Luis Rivas (Laura); his wife Juana Rivas; his children, Adella (Jose), SanJuana, Maria Delores (Edmundo), Julieta, Rosendo (Heather), Guillermo (Donna Jayne), Gabriel (Sandy), Eugenio, Romeo (Kim) and Diana (Jose); and his grandchildren, Cesar (Sarah), Genaro (Amanda), Lorena, Marisa (Jorge), Martin (Neva), Jeremy (Renee), Eric, Sarah, Nasencio (Alexa), Jesus, Sergio, Bianca, Lessette, Ezequiel, Toby (Cheri), Edmundo Jr., Ariana, Sasha, Luis (Endi), Emilio, Michael, Jasmin (Eddie), Juan, Abel, Caesare, Shandelle, Nicholas, Karissa, Vanessa (Carlos), Nathan, Acacia, Nathaniel, Chayenne, Isaiah, Gabrielle, Carlee (Micha), Mateo, Savannah (Nick), Isabella, Marine (Liz), Yracema and Ivan. He is also survived by 67 great-grandchildren.
