She was predeceased by: her parents, Tomas Rangel and Aurora Rangel; her husband Thomas Contreras, Jr.; her brother Thomas H. Rangel Jr.; and her grandsons, Aaron Michael Contreras and Leonel Contreras.

She is survived by: her children, Richard Contreras (Socorro), Tomas Contreras III (Vicky), Cecilia Herrera (Armando), Albert Contreras (Velma), Eloy Contreras (Leonora) and Xavier Contreras (Gloria); and her siblings, Raquel R. Peña, Maria R. Contreras, Dora R. Salazar, Sylvia Rangel, Delia Pantoja, Marisela Peña, Susana Rangel, Robert Rangel and Albert Rangel. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
