He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gladys Gotcher and James M. Simmonds II; his wife Janie Norris Simmonds; his children, Shelley Simmonds Weidenbach (Myron Weidenbach) of Rockwall, Texas, Carey Simmonds Woodward (Brad Woodward) of Breckenridge, Texas and J. M. Simmonds (Michele Simmonds) of Breckenridge, Texas.; his grandchildren, Riley Weidenbach, Sidney Weidenbach, Owen Woodward, Lilly Woodward, Hudson Woodward, Grady Simmonds, Landry Woodward and Jackson Woodward; his great grandchild Max Woodward; his sister Sue Dale Simmonds Baldwin (Jasper H. Baldwin); and his nephews, Forrest Baldwin, Jim Norris and Scott Norris.
